·         My goodness this week is gonna be a monster!

·         I heart Wednesday!  Oakland’s longest running open mic times your favorite hump day get-down never fails.  REGARDLESS, a good time will be had by all and with the weather heating (kinda) up, the masses will be in full force.

·         Friday nights inside Era are typically reserved for a house music format.  This week we shake things up in a major way with two of my favorite djs and closest friends holdin’ fort.  I’m excited!!!

·         Saturday takes me back.  Chris, Demetrius and I have been doing the party thing together for a while but it seems like … um…. FOREVER since we got down on a Saturday.  This weekend we gather inside Chris’ spot for a toast to the good life.

·         This week, no punk!  dj hec certified!  Not only are we rocking with some of the BEST dj the Bay has to offer, not only are we sweating out the DOPEST venues in the ‘town, we are celebrating the born date of two of my all time, most favorite cats/ photographers ‘round these parts

·         My man KOLA is the brain child behind the now infamous monthly TRENDS inside ERA each 2^nd Saturday of the month.  He is also an incredibly humble man who loves-the-lens and did all the work on my website.  This Wednesday night, we celebrate you my dude.

·         Friday, rockin’ with Mind Motion at the Den.  LionGod on the mike. ‘Nuff said.

·         Saturday I make my return to Smooth Saturday inside Lukas. Fun!!

·         Sunday, we rock what has become known as THE Sunday party in the ‘town.  Only quality, top choice jocks grace the booth (Sake 1, Shortkut, Franchise, Hen-Roc, D-Sharp, soul.profess ALONG WITH RESIDENT Mpenzi, to name …well…HELLA).  This week, not only is it my turn-to-table, we celebrate MAJOR founder and President J-Sight!  Officially top 5 coolest guy EVER and the coolest white dude of ALL-TIME (Sorry Jordan and Brian… he’s older J )

·         Mouth Off/ Run Tell Dat continues to be the standard for Oakland hump (Wednes)day night life.  CME tore the building down last week, so yours truly is flying solo this go ‘round.   

·         Back to back nights at New Parish this weekend.  Friday we celebrate the world famous D-Sharps birthday inside the new monthly jump “Fly Kicks”… sneakers required!!

·         March madness… literally!  This month is looking pretty nuts but I’m especially excited about a few gigs:

·         Wednesdays have been so dope!  This week we step it up a notch by bringing in the home-slice C.M.E (SLAPNASTIES) for a special guest DJ set.  My dude has been honing his skills as a one of the residents at SFCs legendary Thursday night get down PST.

·         Saturday inside TRENDS we pay tribute to the 90’s.  Slide through before 10 for discounted admission and happy hour drinks specials.

·         Next Friday my big bruh Ariel the LionGod launches a new monthly jump inside Oakland’s New Parish.  In this first installment of “Fly Kicks and Stilettos” we will also celebrate the born-date of the world famous DJ D-Sharp..!!  Check the flyer below.

My Thoughts

·         Short and sweet this go ‘round.  Sorry I have been MIA the past couple of weeks.  Believe me, the lack of email updates does not equate to lack of gigs.  The good party people of the bay have been dancing up a storm well into mid-February.  Highlights??  The mother of all Happy Hours at Fresh James w/ Odiaka, Platurn and myself; D-Roc’s birthday get-down at New Parish; and last Saturdays best of both worlds mash between SF’s Chris Larot and myself inside Slone.

·         TONIGHT the good folks of Oakland get down with two of the best that do it inside The Den.  Yours truly serves as resident president (snazzy way of sayin’ lead off batter) with his majesty D-Sharp headlining LionGods monthly headbanger CLASSY. 

·         My hands down favorite party with perhaps my hands down most favorite guy KOLA is happing manana inside of ERA (….my hands down most favorite spot…)  And to make things Grand-er (era is located on 19 Grand Ave. …Pun intended) the homie DC will open up on the decks!! Plus a plethora of birthday’s annnnd, I might even wear a tie!  Not to be missed.

·         Equally excited to rock with the man himself, MIND MOTION, this Friday inside The Den.  In month two of my residency at Classy, we welcome the return of the Bay’s chief party rocker and his partner in crime, Mr. Lloyd Lewis.  Both were a part of the October edition of Classy and, as expected, it was BONKERS!

·         Well, well, well…. Happy New Year!  Wherever you brought in 2011 (that looks funny) hope you did so safe and with much joy.  Pedro’s was fan-tab-ulous!!  Props to the waves of supports that packed it in last Friday night.

·         It’s gonna be hard to top the latter part of 2010!  A year filled with blessings and you all have 100% to do with that.  Thanks for your continued support, love and energy this past year.

·         A big part of the success of ’10 has to do with the good folks at Hot Water Corn Bread and Air Lounge for giving yours truly a second go ‘round on Wednesday nights.  The weekly get-down has been the focal point of many-a-celebration for myself (website launch, birthday, ect..) and many others (Bobby Valentino performance,  Sake 1, DJ Merrel), as we have turned Mouth Off Wednesday’s into Oakland’s favorite hump-day event.

·         Fall through ERA this Saturday as the TRENDs fam-bam returns for our 2^nd Saturday monthly.  KOLA documents, I play songs, you create the vibe.

·         I figure I would update the site today, Friday the 17th, this week rather than the usual early morning Wednesday routine.  Mouth Off/ Run tell Dat has been incredible and I couldn’t be more thankful to the citizens of Oakland and beyond for their continued support of my humble weekly get-down.  I am creeping up on my 4^th year as an AIR LOUNGE Wednesday resident and just last week we celebrated the 1 year anny of dj hec / Hot Water Corn Bread collabo!  Needless to say, it’s your favorite mid-week party and I thought I would reserve this space to highlight other events taking place this week.

·         I’m super excited to have been named the featured resident at one of my favorite Oakland monthly parties CLASSY.  My big bro Ariel has being doing his thing for 3 years as we have seen the party move from SFC to Old Oakland before landing in Uptown!  The Den has provided the perfect venue to host the Classy folks of Oakland along with Bay-renowned DJs  D-Sharp, Mind Motion, Fuze and soul.profess.  It is an honor to be rocking alongside Oakland’s flyest plus the best party rockers around.  TONIGHT, your resident president dj hec rocks a 4 hour set of… I won’t know till you get there!  Let’s share a vibe!

·         Come out to Vessel this Sunday night with a toy in hand!  The good folks at location 415 have dedicated this night to benefit the children of South City with your kind donations.  So come to Union Square to holiday shop then stay to rock with yours truly inside SFCs dopest venue!  And make a child smile….
